Selecting Files and Folders

The Files and Folders tab allows you to select or deselect any files or folders on your system to include with your MozyHome backup. This method differs from backup sets because instead of searching for a file type, MozyHome searches for individual files and folders to back up. MozyHome does not support removable drives that are not "mounted" such as thumb, or flash drives. You can tell if your external drive is "mounted" when you open your MozyHome configuration. If you are able to select files on this drive for back up, then it is a "mounted" drive. If your external drive is not "mounted," first copy the data onto one of your "mounted" drives, then select the data for back up.

  1. Click the Mozy icon in the menu bar MozyHome icon, then choose Open MozyHome.
  2. Click the Files and Folders tab.

  3. Select the folder or file to include in the backup.
  4. Select the Back up checkbox next to the file or folder that is selected below the browse panel.

    When you select a folder, all its subfolders and files are included as well.

    To exclude a certain file already marked for backup, click the file name, then deselect the Back up checkbox next to the file name.

  5. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until you have selected all the files you want to be included in the backup.
  6. Your changes are automatically saved.
