  4. Click Browse to browse to the location that the backup set should search for the files and folders that match the Spotlight query. For example, /Users/UserA.

When you select a folder, all its subfolders are included as well.

  5. In the Spotlight Query field, use wildcards to specify a file type to include or exclude. For example, if you want to include all mp3 files in the folder you selected, enter *.mp3. You can also use a Spotlight Query. For information on how to create a Spotlight query, see the Spotlight Query Programming Guide ( http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Carbon/Conceptual/SpotlightQuery/SpotlightQuery.html ) and the Spotlight Metadata Attributes Reference ( http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Carbon/Reference/MetadataAttributesRef/MetadataAttrRef.html ).
  6. Press Enter or click the Spotlight icon to locate all of the files of this type in this folder.
  7. (Optional) Check the These Files Will Be EXCLUDED from the Final Backup Set checkbox to remove files with the the specified location and file type from your backup set. See Exclusionary Backup Sets.
  8. Click Save to save your new backup set. The newly created backup set appears in the list of available backup sets in the Backup Sets window.
