Mozyshell.dll failed to register HRESULT

Issue

When attempting to update the Mozy software the following error occurs:
Module C:\Program Files \MozyHome\mozyshell.dll failed to register. HRESULT -<number>.Contact your support personnel.

 

Resolution

1. Update to the latest Microsoft C++ package:

• For 32 bit:  http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/D/8/5D8C65CB-C849-4025-8E95-C3966CAFD8AE/vcredist_x86.exe
• For 64 bit:  http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/d/6/2d61c766-107b-409d-8fba-c39e61ca08e8/vcredist_x64.exe

2. Download the latest version of the Mozy client.

• MozyHome
• MozyPro

3. Install the Mozy update.
